VALUATION DAYS 

We hold drop-in valuation mornings every Thursday from 9.30am to 1pm, where no appointment is necessary. From single pieces to complete collections, we're happy to look at whatever you want to bring along to our saleroom. If you would prefer to come on another day, please ensure you contact us first to make an appointment with the relevant valuer. 

Appointments for house visits can also be arranged.

commission & fees

COMMISSION Charges

Per lot sold: 15% of the hammer price up to £5,000, then a further 10% on the balance of the hammer price above £5,000.

Carriage Charges

We can provide, without liability, details of carriers to assist with the transportation of Lots to the saleroom if required. The costs incurred will usually be deducted from the sale proceeds, unless we are otherwise instructed. See our shipping section for contact details.

UNSOLD & WITHDRAWAL Charges

There are usually no charges for unsold lots. Lots withdrawn after cataloguing, or unsold after the imposition of a reserve higher than we recommend, may be subject to a fee of 5% of the lower estimate.

Illustration & Marketing Charge

We charge a £10 fee per lot for marketing and illustration. All lots are illustrated on our website and third-party international auction sites where potential buyers can register to bid live over the internet. Some lots will be selected for illustration in our printed catalogue at the discretion of Chorley's and without additional charge to the vendor.

Loss & Damage Warranty

1.5% of the hammer price of sold lots.

VAT

All charges are subject to Value Added Tax at the current rate on the day of sale.
