A late 18th Century Lombardy escritoire with gilded mouldings to the rosewood frieze drawer set with marble specimens and with landscape enamel handle, the fall with central green marble oval panel surrounded by marble specimens on a rosewood and purpleheart ground within ebonised flat stop fluted corner columns, the base with two panelled doors set with marble specimens within Ionic corner columns and on square tapering panelled feet, the sides panelled and set with gilt wood mouldings, the walnut and purpleheart interior with two rows of four drawers flanking pigeon holes, 160cm x 97cm
