A pair of Imari baluster vases and covers, each with Shishi finials, approximately 52cm tall

Provenance:

Commander Frederick Mortimer Barwick, Captain Royal Indian Marine (1857-1954), of Scartho Hall and later Folkestone. Thence by descent to the current owner. The vases can be seen displayed in Barwick's home in Folkestone in this early 20th Century photograph below a Burmese throne and to the side of an elaborately carved cabinet

One vase with a section broken from the rim and glued. Some associated cracks from the break. One cover with a small chip to flange.
