Vulliamy, London, an ebonised quarter repeating bracket clock of small size with silent escapement, circa 1785, the 6 inch brass dial with 5½ inch enamel chapter ring, Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring, the shallow arch with twin enamel subsidiaries for strike/silent and rise and fall, signed between Vulliamy, London, spandrels lacking, the five pillar movement pull quarter repeating on six bells, dead beat type escapement with gut pallets, foliate engraved backplate centred with basket of flowers, folding pendulum holdfast block, the shallow inverted bell top case with brass ogee feet and carrying handle, 34cm high

The enamel dial has very small chips at 6 and 12 O'Clock, otherwise very good. Spandrels lacking. The movement needs a full overhaul, one gut line snapped. Ticking and repeating. The case is generally good. Pieces of veneer lifting around the dial base and left side. Block added and plaque removed front base centre. No keys. Later pendulum. Dial originally had a matted centre and there is a mock pendulum aperture and date aperture begind the enamel dial. Also open holes where chapter ring was originally secured.
