Lot 34
Pair of icepails, covers and liners - one icepail finial cracked and detached (but present) from cover, the other cover with minor chipping to finial, finial with 19th century metal bolt, several hairline cracks to rim, one icepail with a series of deep cracks stemming from the bolt at socle (which has been restored and overpainted), these deep cracks run through the body and up to the rim and as a result this icepail is very fragile and in need of repair and restoration, the liner has a short firing and hairline crack to rim.
Four tall circular tazza - one with four radiating hairline cracks from centre, another with four hairline cracks and a very deep crack in need of repair, another with minor glaze crack to centre, the fourth in good order.
One smaller tazza - four hairline cracks radiating from centre.
Three low tazza (not two as catalogued) - all with hairline cracks radiating from centre.
18 dessert plates - one with glaze crazing visible to underside, one with stained hairline crack to centre, one with rim chip and associated hairline crack. Some scattered minor footrim chipping, otherwise ok.
Pair of sugar bowls and covers - in good order.
21 cups (in two sizes) - one cup with hairline crack to rim.
22 saucers - one chipped to rim, with associated short hairline crack, some wear to pink ground at lobes.
Two matched comports (mid size) - in good order.
One matched low comport (not two as catalogued) - detached from foot (foot present).
The replacement pieces are a darker pink ground colour. The pink ground varies throughout and is slightly patchy in places. There is some wear, slight scratching to enamels and gilding overall.
